There were rumors been spread on social media on the suspension of the sit-at-home order in the southeastern region of Nigeria by the Indigenous People of Biafra. IPOB had given the order on July 30th, 2021 which is to be observed every Monday until the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

For the sit-at-home order, there will be no movement in the Biafra land every Monday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. All markets, schools, motor parks, airports, and public places in Biafra land should shut down from morning to evening every Monday until Nnamdi Kanu is released. On Monday, August 9, 2021, which marked the first ‘Ghost Monday’ there was total compliance recorded in Ebonyi, Imo, and Abia States.
